Other Ways of Giving: (scroll down for information)
- Matching Gifts
- Memorial & Honor Gifts
- Donations of Securities & Investments
- Planned Giving
- IRAs and Life Insurance
Don’t miss an opportunity to potentially double the value of your contribution. Many businesses or corporations have a matching gift program in which the company will match individual contributions including monthly, annual or payroll deduction gifts.
Others have programs that generate corporate donations to match employee volunteerism. Please ask your company’s community relations or payroll department for more information.
Memorial & Honor Gifts
Honoring the memory of a deceased friend or loved one is a wonderful way to celebrate his or her life, as well as support our vital community services. Likewise, honoring the special occasions and accomplishments of a friend or loved one with a contribution to Gabriel Project is a wonderful way to share your joy and celebration.
Honor contributions are ideal for births and birthdays, adoptions, weddings, anniversaries, and religious celebrations, as well as just to let someone know they are special to you every day of the year.
When a memorial donation is made, we notify a family representative of the contribution made in their loved one’s name. For honor gifts, we will notify that special someone that you have made a contribution in tribute to them.
Donations of Securities & Investments
Donating securities and investments directly to the Gabriel Project of WV may provide substantial savings on capital gains taxes as well as an income tax deduction.
Because of tax considerations, it is usually more beneficial to contribute securities directly to the Gabriel Project of WV rather than selling them and giving us the proceeds.
Gifts of this nature should be carefully considered in relation to your comprehensive financial and estate plans. The Gabriel Project of WV does not give legal or tax advice. You should consult an attorney or financial planner prior to making a planned gift due to state laws, changing tax codes, and other issues affecting planned gifts.
IRAs and Life Insurance
It is easy to make a future gift by designating the Gabriel Project of WV as a beneficiary of your IRA or other retirement plan without penalty while still providing for your family. Contact the trustee who manages your retirement plan to request a beneficiary designation form. You may then designate that a specific amount or a percentage of the plan ultimately be donated to the Gabriel Project.
Choosing to name the Gabriel Project of WV as the irrevocable beneficiary and owner of a life insurance policy may provide you with immediate and long-range income and estate tax benefits. Because of the complexity of insurance policy gifts, donors are encouraged to consult IRS rules and their tax advisors.
You may choose to make a provision in your will for the Gabriel Project of WV. These bequest and trust arrangements often allow donors to provide significant and meaningful financial support for the Gabriel Project above and beyond that which is possible through a current gift. Such gifts are very important to the long-term future of the Gabriel Project services and are encouraged in conjunction with a current gift. Please consult legal advice on the preparation of your will and bequest amount.
