Gabriel Project services are available without discrimination to all families in need with children 2 years of age and under.
What are the Gabriel Project services?
We generally provide such baby essentials as clothing, formula, baby food, diapers, portable cribs (pack ‘n plays), convertible car seats, and other items. Some locations provide full-size cribs based on individual needs and funding resources. All Gabriel Project services are subject to quantity and other limitations.
Who can receive Gabriel Project services?
Services are provided to the child’s custodial parent or guardian. If a kinship caregiver (grandparent, other relative) has temporary custody or is seeking custody of the child, he/she must provide written proof that custody is being sought. Pregnant women can receive baby items from the Gabriel Project 4 – 5 weeks before their baby is due.
What does the Gabriel Project not offer?
We do not have services for children older than 2 years of age. We do not have services for adults.
We do not provide services to the child’s non-custodial parent, to a non-custodial relative or to babysitters caring for a child. We provide baby items to families, not to case workers or other employees of social service organizations or public agencies. We do not offer delivery of baby items.
How are Gabriel Project services provided?
Services are provided by trained volunteers working from sites housed in community-based churches or nonprofit partner organizations. If you are new to the Gabriel Project, the volunteer will complete an intake form asking for information about your needs, your household, and other services you are receiving. All our volunteers keep the information you give us confidential. You do not need to bring proof of income. You also do not need a public agency referral for our services. You will receive services based on your needs and our baby item availability. You can return for additional services at a later date which will be explained to you during your first visit.
