We welcome volunteers, whether you can give a day, a few hours each week, or help us throughout the year. Our volunteers are young adults through senior citizens, from all walks of life, who are passionate about our mission to help mothers and families in need.
Individuals who support our mission are encouraged to volunteer to assist with client services, help with donation sorting, do clerical duties, and/or fulfill other tasks at Gabriel Project sites. These individual volunteers are called “Gabriel Angels”. Individual volunteers must be 21 years or age or older. They cannot have received, nor has an immediate family member received, Gabriel Project services for at least a year prior to volunteering.
Churches are the heart of our organization. We welcome the participation of any church who subscribes to our mission. We assist each church in determining their level of involvement with us and the amount of time and resources their congregation can give. Some churches agree to provide services and mentoring to clients in their local community. Other churches choose to help in less intense, but equally vital ways, such as collecting special offerings, creating handmade baby items, organizing diaper drives and other events, and providing volunteers to support their local Gabriel Project.
We also periodically welcome community service groups as volunteers. These groups collect and sort baby items, check and clean used baby equipment, help with fundraising events, distribute Gabriel Project information and perform other essential tasks either for a specific time period or as an ongoing activity throughout the year.
